I went to the MoMa to see the Century of the Child exhibition and was struck by a specific thing in the show.
Specifically, the nursery designed and built by Juliet and Gyrogy Kepes. I want to do this for my kids (when I have them), with a new spin on things. I love love love this idea and would have loved to have had it as a child. What kid wouldn’t love to have their own experimental lab in their own bedroom!?
I started reading up on the Kepes and am totally inspired by them and their works. They remind me of the Eames. They built this nursery for their kids in 1949. Modern art, DIY, science, learning and nature; what’s not to like?
